An ordinary yet special weekend in the outskirts of Nagoya
On this scorching July Sunday, I reunited with old high school pals for a BBQ in Ichinomiya City, Nagoya’s charming suburb. The adventure started with a ride on the local Meitetsu train, feeling like bold explorers on unfamiliar tracks!
Upon arrival, we wasted no time and immediately cracked open some cold beers and set up our defense against the sun – tents and an inflatable pool – and got grilling with sweat-drenched enthusiasm.
With ice-cold beers and highballs, memories of high school flooded back, etched into our very souls. Kids splashed joyfully, while adults, merry from drinks, shared laughter – a typical, laid-back Nagoya suburb Sunday.
Amidst the sizzle and chatter, I pondered the essence of happiness – simple moments, succulent meat, icy drinks, cherished friendships – that left a lasting impression on the heart.
